San Diego Event & Headshot Photography: Optimum Software Solutions
Corporate events mean people are already dressed professionally. This makes corporate events a great opportunity to get updated headshots while everyone's there. That is exactly what Optimum Software Solutions had in mind when they brought me on for their team dinner. While I covered the event itself, I also ran a headshot booth on the side, capturing updated headshots of every guest who stopped by.
Building an Event Photography Plan for Optimum Software Solutions
When talking with Optimum, they wanted to capture the fun time their employees have. During the dinner, there were many upbeat moments and joy to capture. This shoot was during sunset. When the sun is setting, it can create harsh backlighting; I counteracted this by bouncing my flash off the ceiling and nearby walls to create front lighting that balanced the images. I also took shots with the sun at my back. Shooting with the sun at my back gave the best lighting of the day, which created very softly lit and beautiful images.
Taking Headshots for Optimum Software Solutions
During the event, people would come and ask me for a headshot. I focused on making them feel comfortable. To do this, I incorporated fun, dynamic posing to get people loose and excited in front of the camera. Then I utilized my lighting setup of a flash with a soft box umbrella, a grey backdrop, and a reflector to create nice, smooth, balanced lighting. Once I had everyone's headshot, I had them make their final selection on location so they could pick the headshot they liked the best.
